THEME: JANE ANGER
Theme: Jane Anger
Jane Anger, the title of this series, refers to a British writer who published the pamphlet Jane Anger, Her Protection for Women in the 16th century. These artworks explore the concept of anger as a tool for change by juxtaposing found imagery from social media, art history, and mass media. My interest lies in how social movements, Black Lives Matter, Women’s Marches, Times Up and #MeToo, harness anger in order to forefront an array of gender-based burdens.
